| STEPS
TO BE TAKEN IN THE EVENT OF A STORM |
|
To
all the Region One Gang
From Mary Wright:
Member of the Disaster Preparation and Response Task Force
of our Presbytery
|
This
letter is overdue…and, since we are under a threat from
Izzy, I wanted to make sure you all had this in a handy spot!
Be sure
to do the basic preparation: 1)
be sure to have copies of hard to replace records stored in
a safe, waterproof, fireproof place.
2) recruit
a crew to help prepare the church buildings as much as possible.
3) Discuss
with staff ways to prepare the office space of the church.
4) Know
what homebound members need assistance, and where others will
go.
5) Make
an up to date video of the church property-interior and exterior.
I've also created a calling tree for an impending storm as
well as an after storm check in….last year, it was great
to hear you say how much you appreciated the contact before
and after Irene. I hope that our calling tree will help to
make this an even more efficient and caring system.
Serving
Christ with you,
Mary

CALLING
SYSTEM |
|
Here's
how this will (hopefully) work…
Pastors are considered the primary contact…
Clerks are considered the secondary contact…
These numbers can be found in the current presbytery directory…If
you wish to have another person as primary contact, please
notify Mary Wright.
Below is a listing of the churches of our region, divided
into geographical sections. The first church listed begins
the calling tree. The last church in each cycle calls Mary
Wright, so that the cycle is completed.
Please call before the storm hits to establish contact, then
after the storm to find out needs, etc. |
