Bookkeeper - Sunrise PC
The Sunrise Presbyterian Church seeks a part-time bookkeeper. Works with the latest versions of Quick Books 2010 and Excel programs (required).
Expectations: This is a one day a week job done on Monday in 5 hours. The hours are:
10 AM to 3 PM
Tasks: Maintain all income and expense records for Church and Academy. Prepare weekly checks to pay bills and payroll every 2 weeks. Provide weekly income/expense summary reports and monthly full financial reports of the Church and Academy through the Pastor and Director.
The person hired will work with the Pastor of the church and Director of the Sunrise Christian Academy and is accountable to the Pastor as head of staff.
Salary (2012) for this position is $20.00 per hour (a Form W-4 is required).

Executive Assistant (Community, Deerfield Beach)
Position Description (General)
This is a 30 to 35 hour per week Monday through Friday professional front office position that requires a variety of office and people skills. (See Duties and Responsibilities)
While the position is part-time, hours to be worked will be consistent and coincide with church office hours throughout the year. (See Anticipated Hours of Operation)
Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications.
While benefits are limited fitting with the part-time position, the position does include regular compensation for holidays that fall during the week when the church office is closed. Three paid personal days may be scheduled in advance and taken during the remainder of the first calendar year of employment. One week paid vacation may be scheduled and taken during the calendar year of employment that commences January 2012.
It is the church's prayerful desire that this position evolve into a fulltime position with a more complete benefits package as members and ministries of the church increase in coming months and years.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Serve as administrative assistant performing office needs as required primarily reporting to the minister
• Serve as general receptionist greeting and receiving people during office hours in person, via telephone and via electronic communications
• Represent the church in providing first line information to community groups utilizing or requesting to information about utilizing church property
• Coordinate and provide information among church officers, members and visitors and our primary tenants; the preschool and Brazilian congregation
• Provide accounting functions subject to the approval and oversight of the treasurer; including but not limited to the compilation of monthly financials and account balances, preparation of disbursements, accounts receivable, payroll, and safekeeping of insurance, tax and other financial records, process and record incoming funds and prepare bank deposits.
• Assist with membership and membership related records subject to the approval and oversight of the clerk
• Manage church email accounts and update facebook and the church website daily
• Perform general executive assistant duties of typing, filing, and computer word processing
• Assist active elders on session with committee notices, records, and communications
• Prepare and duplicate worship bulletins
• Assimilate, edit, publish and mail newsletters and special publications
• Maintain a master calendar for events held at the church
• Purchase church office supplies as needed
• Arrange for and familiarize volunteers to cover office in your absence
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma
• Strong written and verbal English language skills
• Five years professional office experience four years of which can be substituted by a four year college degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
• U.S. citizen/legal resident with valid Florida Operator's License and independent means of transportation
• Familiarity with office software (Microsoft Office, Word, Publisher, Outlook)
• Ability to type 60 words per minute corrected
• Familiarity with technologies of website, social media, and electronic communications
• Experience as a financial secretary or demonstrated financial acumen to work with Quick Books and membership software
• People skills to warmly and graciously communicate with the general public, groups leasing space at the church, church members, prospective members, and visitors
Desired Qualifications
• Familiarity with Christian worship liturgies, church school, vacation Bible school, and other common church activities
• Familiarity with Deerfield Beach area community
• Proficiency with Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus
