Bio

The Rev. Michel D. Yonts was raised in Southern California.  He received his A.A. degree from Citrus College in Azusa, California, his B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of California, Riverside, and his Master of Divinity degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary.  He has served churches in Wyoming, Washington State, and California before coming to Florida. 

He has served on a variety of committees in the 6 Presbyteries he has been a part of, including Committee on Ministry, Mission Strategy and Evangelism, Committee on Preparation for Ministry, and the Risk Evangelism Task Force.  He has served as Recording Clerk for Wyoming Presbytery, Assistant Clerk and Interim Clerk for Riverside Presbytery, and was Acting Stated Clerk for Tropical Florida Presbytery in 2009.

While Michel enjoys the work of the Stated Clerk and of the Presbytery, his first priority is to the Pastorate.  He particularly enjoys preaching and teaching Bible studies.

He has been married for 38 years to Pauline who, though not ordained clergy, is his partner in ministry as well as in life.  They have one adult daughter, Anastasia, who lives in California with her husband, and a delightful granddaughter, Melissa.
