Bio

Our Presbytery Administrator is currently a Candidate for Ordination.  In 2003, Amalie took an early retirement from Discover Card to pursue a call in ministry.  To prepare for the call, she began a seven-year academic journey that included a BA in Ministry from Palm Beach Atlantic University graduating 2006.  She completed her ministerial preparation with a Masters of Divinity at Yale Divinity School, graduating May 2010.  At Yale, Amalie received the first Certificate in Reformed Studies, was the co-leader of Presbyterian students, and a co-leader on Yale’s Environmental Concerns Committee,

Amalie was with Discover Card for eighteen years, working in sales, national sales management, and marketing. She ended her career with Discover as the Senior Marketing Manager for the Merchant Sales Division.  In the course of her career, she has been southeast regional manager for Hobie Cat Sailboats, and was co-owner of a North Carolina whitewater rafting company.

Amalie is a native of Ft Lauderdale and resides in Palm Beach County. She has a son Benjamin and a daughter, Rebecca who is married to James Currie. James and Rebecca have blessed her with three grandchildren. She has been a member of the Presbyterian Church for twenty-five years.
